About The Role

Good Games is Australia’s largest chain of tabletop gaming stores, offering an extensive range of board, trading card, and roleplaying games and accessories. We also pride ourselves on building communities and providing a premium in store experience.

We’re seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at Good Games as a Product Type Specialist! In this versatile role, you’ll be at the forefront of analyzing trends and optimizing stock in your field of expertise across Good Games stores. This role requires attention to detail and higher level analytical skills.

This role will start by learning our systems though receiving stock and organizing transfers between stores. Responsibilities will then be added till you have taken over the full role.

As a Product Type Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Order Placement with Suppliers: Place orders with suppliers for stores based on business needs and directives.
  • Oversee Inventory Space: Manage and optimize inventory space for maximum efficiency.
  • Track Inventory Updates with Suppliers: Maintain regular communication with suppliers to track inventory.
  • Work with stores to create minimum stock levels.
  • Audit Inventory: Conduct periodic inventory audits with stores to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyse Supplier Performance: Evaluate and analyse supplier performance
  • Consistency in Purchases: Ensure consistency in purchasing practices, aligning with business requirements.
  • Track Sales: Monitor and analyse sales trends to optimise stock levels.
  • Evaluate Overstocks: Identify and evaluate overstocks, devising plans to reduce excess inventory.
  • Coordinate Sales with Suppliers/Directives: Collaborate with suppliers and adhere to directives.
  • Work Alongside Merchandising Team: Collaborate with the merchandising team to create and manage SKUs as needed.
  • Understand Business Directives: Comprehend and align with business directives to make informed decisions.

Skills and Experience

Who Are We Looking For?

  • A strongly self-motivated individual with a desire to grow with our business.
  • Works well in a team.
  • Experience in stock control or product management systems.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel and Google Sheets)
  • Experience in the tabletop industry is preferred.
  • A deep understanding of your area of expertise Miniature Gaming, Board Games, Roleplaying Games etc. The more expertise the better.
  • Have superior communication and problem solving skills, along with a good eye for detail.
  • You have solid computer skills and are generally technical savvy.
  • You feel it is important that you enjoy your work.
  • You can fly…ok, we just wanted to see if you were paying attention.
